Do you ever need a spinning icon of some sort, or maybe the perfect strips for your background? There are literally 1000’s of tools which help designers and coders create key parts of their website through the use of simple online tools, here of some of the best ones I have found.

AJAXload

AJAXload is a free tool for generating the little spinning icons designers use for AJAX request. You can choose for 35 different designs, all which customisable colours and the options of transparent backgrounds.

FavIcon Generator (Dynamic Drive)

Dynamic Drive has one of the best tools out there for creating favicon’s, the little icons for web pages in your browser. You can give it any GIF, JPG, PNG or BMP file and it will covert it into a 16×16 icon file. You can also merge the larger 32×32 and 48×48 into the file as well so that it becomes the perfect desktop icon.

Stripe Generator

Repeating strips are very Web 2.0 but are very difficult to get right if you draw them yourself. This is where the stripe generator comes in. You can set lots of different options including thickness, colour and orientation to get the perfect stripes for your design.

CSS Sprite Generator

CSS sprites are really fiddly to make, but this excellant website takes out all the hassle. Give them a ZIP file of your icons fiddle about with teh spacing, and it will create the perfect image.
